When wood doors are ordered prefinished in a particular stain color,they are sent to the Finishing Department. The Finishing Department hang the doors on fixed "Hooks" so the doors can be stained and finished without being touched again by anyone's hands.

To hang the door on the conveyer system, it is necessary to drill two holes in the back of each door or drawer front. They are placed as close to the normal hinge position as possible, so if the door is ordered "BORED FOR HINGES", every effort is made to eliminate these holes when the larger 35mm (1 3/8") diameter hole is bored.

If NO boring is requested, the conveyer holes will normally be covered bywhatever type of exposed hinges YOU might mount.

However, since the hooks on the finishing conveyer are set at FIXED intervals, there are limitations to the RANGE of placement of the conveyer holes, and occasionally, the holes will remaim, even after the door has been bored for concealed hinges.
This is simply an Unavoidable aspect of the finishing process, and therefore MUST be considered acceptable.

IF the conveyer holes INTERFERE with the mounting of your Hinge SCREWS, you may plug the holes with a few toothpicks, so the hinge mounting screw will not be 'drawn' to the conveyer hole that already exists.

If the hole is not COVERED by the new hinge, it can be simply filled with a Colored Putty from Minwax, Elmers, Color-Putty, or D.A.P., all available at home center stores for less than $2.00 (for enough putty to do hundreds of doors!)

• If the doors are ordered FINISHED, but NO HINGE BORING is requested, the holes drilled for the Finishing Department will ALWAYS be present.
• If the doors and drawer fronts are ordered UNFINISHED, there will be NO CONVEYER HOLES at all.
• If the doors are ordered FINISHED, andBORED for HINGES, there is still achance that the Finishing Department's conveyerholes will not be removed.
