This is the Side of the door that the Hinge Holes are bored on.
HINGE SIDE DOESN'T MATTER ON SYMMETRICAL DOORS, BECAUSE THEY CAN BE FLIPPED TO HINGE RIGHT OR LEFT.
if your door looks the same upside-down as it does right-side-up, then you can mark all of your hinge borings as "LEFT".
NOTE!!! YOU WILL NEED:
TWO (2) HINGE BORES FOR EACH WOOD DOOR UNDER 36" HIGH, and/or UNDER 40" HIGH FOR EACH "RTF" DOOR (Rigid Thermo Foil)
THREE (3) HINGE BORES FOR EACH WOOD DOOR OVER 36" HIGH, and/or OVER 40" HIGH FOR EACH "RTF" DOOR (Rigid Thermo Foil)
"Right" Boring means that the door will OPEN to the RIGHT and the handle or knob will be on the Left side of the Closed door. The Hinges will be on the right side when looking at the closed door fro the Front of the door.
Available Choices are:
None - No Hinge Boring on this Door
Left - Opens to the Left Side
Right - Opens to the Right Side
Left/Right Pair - ONE door with boring on the LEFT and ONE door with boring on the RIGHT if ordering doors in pairs (or Quads)
NOTE!!! IF YOU DECIDE THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE HINGE BORING THAT IS DIFFERENT THAN WHAT WE OFFER AS STANDARD, WE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU. YOU CAN PUT YOUR INSTRUCTIONS IN THE "COMMENTS/SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS" BOX ON YOUR ORDER.
THERE ARE EXTRA CHARGES FOR THIS SERVICE THAT ARE PRICED AS FOLLOWS:
- Standard Concealed Hinge Boring: If A Door Is Bored @ 3" Symmetrically, It Costs 1.00 Per Hole.
- "SPECIAL" Concealed Hinge Boring:If Door Is Bored At Anything Other Than 3", It Is "Special" And Costs 2.00 Per Hole (This Includes The Hole At The 3" Position, Because All The Bores Need To Be Assigned To A Person, Rather Than Being Done Automatically By A Very Fast Machine).
- "ASYMMETRICAL SPECIAL" Concealed Hinge Boring: If The Door Is Also Asked To Be Made Asymmetrical By Putting The Holes At Two Different Heights, The Door Is Then Considered A "Special Special" And The Boring Costs Rise To $4.00 Per Hole. ($8.00 per Door for a 2 Bore Door)
If the CLOSED, HANGING Door has the hinges on the Left side and the handle on the Right side, as you are looking at it from the FRONT (outside) of the Door, the door is BORED "LEFT".
"Bored Left" and "Hinged Left" mean the Same Thing.
